Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship = Yes
(Lick ‘n Stick®)
How to define your Pre-Packaged and Ready-to-Ship Inventory
You can define whether or not your base product is Pre-Packaged and Ready-to-Ship during the “Configure” step when adding or editing your Base Product.
One tracking number per item
(typically undesirable to combine in a box with other products)
Send us pre-sealed boxes, and as orders enter our system, we simply print, peel off, and attach (aka “Lick ‘n Stick®”) a shipping label to the boxes, then ship them on your behalf. These products need to checked as “Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship” when creating your Base Product.
Details
- Each item must be received in an individual box or shippable mailer.
- Box or shippable mailer must be large enough to accommodate a shipping label.
- Domestic orders (i.e. those shipping from a warehouse to an address in the same country), need to have a box surface of at least 6″ x 6″ (15.24cm x 15.24cm). We can wrap the shipping label around, as long as your box has a sum of dimensions that can fit the label.
For example, we can handle the following boxes: - 6″ x 4″ x 2″ (15.24cm x 10.16cm x 5.08cm)
- 6″ x 5″ x 1″ (15.24cm x 12.7cm x 2.54cm)
- NOTE: Australian domestic shipping minimum dimensions for Pre-Packaged and ready-to-ship orders are 8.3″ x 4.4″ (21.08cm x 11.18cm)
- International orders (i.e. those shipping from a warehouse to an address in a different country) need a box surface of at least 8.5″ x 5.5″ (21.59 x 13.97cm), or roughly a standard letter sized piece of paper (8.5″ x 11″)(21.59cm x 27.94) folded in half. If your box is smaller, we will automatically pack it in a larger box for international orders and rate accordingly.
- Each item will be shipped individually, in the sealed mailer or box in which it was received (with the exception already noted above for international orders that are too small to handle the shipping label).
- Each item has a maximum size limitation of 4′ x 4′ x 4′ (1.22m x 1.22m x 1.22m)(1 pallet).
- Single item “Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship” orders do not include a packing list. Multiple “Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship” orders will have one packing list only on the lead package. If your recipient requires specific packing list specifications, a Work Order is required.
Advantages
- Ideal for single-item orders.
- Lower postage for single-item orders because rate is based on the dimensions of the base product, not the outer box.
- Your product branding visible on outer packaging.
Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship = No
(Formerly Pick ‘n Pack®)

Base Product
A base product is the smallest level you intend to sell your item. Normally this is at the individual level of a particular product. Your base product can be Pre-packaged and ready-to-ship or loose items to be packed in our standard packaging.
Bulk Packaging
Bulk Packaging describes container products in which other products are packaged (i.e. a case of 12 pencils). Bulk packaging can be used to simplify your shipping and help you save on order handling and shipping spend. Shipwire provides guidelines and best practices that you can follow to ensure easy shipping. Learn more about Bulk packaging.
Kits
A Kit is two or more unique SKUs bundled together and is considered its own individual product that should have its own unique SKU name. The kit has the SKUs physically packed together and cannot be broken down whereas the virtual kit is picked and packed together at the warehouse at the time of shipment. Learn more about Kits and Virtual kits.
Marketing Inserts
Marketing Inserts can be included in your shipments to help promote your product or brand. When you include a marketing insert in your shipment, your customers will receive both the product they ordered and the promotional collateral you chose to include. Inserts can be a variety of product types, including sale pamphlets, brochures, CDs or DVDs, and more.
